Chosen Solution So I did an upgrade as I did many times before on this model using a 1TB WD SSD and the appropriate thermal sensor from OWC. I transferred the data using migration assistant. After the transfer it booted up and all seemed OK, but some programs, such a Office for Mac 2011 did not open and/or triggered the shut down. I uninstalled Office and reinstalled it, and also did First Aid on the SSD, which came up fine....
