Chosen Solution Have a 2016 Macbook 12 inch retina which has a black screen that wont go away. The computer boots up and all normal sounds can be heard but no image is displayed. I contacted apple and did all the resets but to no avail. I went to a authorized apple service provider and they stated I need a new LCD after connecting the laptop to a monitor. Chosen Solution My computer has 2.2GHz 820-3662-A logic board. It stopped working. Can I replace it with a 2.8GMz board with the same part number? Yes. If the board number is the same, it should be interchangeable with the same housing. Just means the processor is different or maybe more RAM, but the functionality of the board is identical and peripherals should interact with the board in the same way/ be in the same locations....

The fans in the processor started revving up and making frighteningly loud noises. Then without warning the screen just shut off. From that moment I found that the display would not work unless I reduced the brightness below 10/15 increments....

I can adjust it to go up, down and to the right, but I can’t move it to the left as much as I need to. The passenger’s side mirror is fine. Should be under warranty. Take it to the dealership.

He did a diagnostic on all the moving parts where he told me the compressor is faulty and it’s going to cost just over £600 to replace. But now the right side is fit and only the bottom side around taptic engine still not flush. most of the time when i see gaps like this between the display and the back casing it has to do with the side guide/grip fingers on the display....

Chosen Solution While replacing the logic board, I accidentally broke the locking tab of the keyboard adapter (beginner’s mistake…). I am wondering if there is any chance the keyboard would still work without the locking tab. At the moment, the keyboard appears not to work. However, I know that the keyboard cable is not particularly easy to put in (MacBook unibody keyboard ribbon cable won’t go in), so I am wondering if I still have a chance to make it work by inserting the cable properly (I have been failing to so so far)....
Chosen Solution I was trying add new thermal paste and when I was removing the logic board, I accidentally cracked and then broke off one of the connectivity housing that (I think) goes to the disc drive. The cable/wire seems fine. It’s the mount that held the red cable that is broken. Is this part replaceable/repairable? I’m having trouble finding a part that would match. Any ideas?
