Chosen Solution So I ditched my Superdrive and installed a dual hard drive with a SSD in my Macbook Pro 15". Everything went perfectly fine, the new SSD is awesome and apart from being a bit noisy, the old hard drive works like a charm. The problem is, while going through the steps to remove the Superdrive, I pulled on the iSight cable upward instead of sideways (I wasn’t following iFixit at that moment but the OWC explication video and the guy hides the connexion with his hand when disconnecting the cable…)....

Chosen Solution I can hear the caller, but the caller can’t hear me? How far are you from the base unit? Is there anything between you and the base unit which could be blocking the signal? Is the battery run down? Does this happen with all callers, or just one particular caller? If only one particular caller, then it is likely a problem on their end, not yours.

Chosen Solution My Nikon D5000 is losing the time settings while changing the accu EN-EL9A. I think the internal back-up battery (capacitor) is faulty. Have someone a picture where this component is shown in the cam? Hi, Here is a link to the ifixit guide on how to replace the viewfinder in the camera. This should help in gaining access to the motherboard to see if the backup battery is mounted on it somewhere....

Chosen Solution My Canon (power shot sx20 )camera was stored (inside a walk-in closet with controlled temperatures) for a few, maybe 5 years, untouched. I went to use it and it won’t turn on. So I replaced the 4 AA batteries and the small lithium battery inside the battery holding area. Still nothing. Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be? Hi @chalke, Were the original batteries OK inasmuch that they hadn’t leaked?...

Chosen Solution I bought a macbook core 2 duo off eBay needing a new hard drive and battery and right now I’m trying to test it with no battery or internal hard drive - just plugged in with the mag charger and with an external usb hard drive. I’m having a few issues installing OSX on the hard drive for now but that should be sorted soon however at the moment, when I plug in the hard drive and mag charger and press the power button nothing happens at all....

Chosen Solution I’ve recently bought a phone in need of repair, I wasn’t quite sure what repairs were needed but I now know that the U2 IC Chip needs replacing. Is it possible to do this myself? If so, what equipment would I need? Thanks in advance! You can do it yourself, however if you have never done anything like BGA replacements before then you will cause more problems than what it currently has....

Chosen Solution Viewfinder glass is smashed I recently got a broken electronic viewfinder (evf) facing glass a6000 off ebay and I will soon replace it with a viewfinder vf unit assembly from water damaged camera. I found this View Finder VF Unit Assembly from ebay which has changed my mind about replacing the whole evf since it seems that the focusing glass is a separate part than having to replace the evf completely....

Chosen Solution The LCD on my 27" thunderbolt display (LM270WQ1) burnt out about a year ago. I haven’t had the time to repair it and Apple told me it would be ~$600 to repair if they did it (of course). However, on the 27" Thunderbolt display tear-down here on iFixit it shows that the 2009-2011 27" iMacs use the same display (LM270WQ1) but a different sub-model. I’ve found a few of those displays on eBay, but before I pull the trigger I want to make sure Apple didn’t do some stupid $@$* like change the ports so you can’t do what I intend to....

Chosen Solution Hi, I recently replaced the battery in an iPhone 6, and I would like to seal it from dust and dirt etc. but I haven’t been able to find a seal for it. Would putting a 6s waterproof seal work? Would it fit? By “reinitiate”, do you mean reactivate? If so, a couple of things might apply. Windows will reactivate itself when connected to the internet, IF the version of Windows is the same as originally installed. That means if the computer was bought with the HOME version and the PRO version was installed it will not activate unless a new key was used....

Chosen Solution My wii keeps losing video/audio. It happens intermittently. I’ve determinded it’s something with the A/V jack on the back of the console. When in “jiggle” the cable at the console connector back and forth the audio/video cuts in and out. Sometimes the video stays on but the colors don’t appear correct. is there an easy fix for this? i’m not afraid of tearing it apart and doing a little solder-work....

Chosen Solution I’d be curious what the resolution to this was. My 65" Vizio started doing the same exact thing which is turning on and operating fine and then after 2 minutes, the picture turns off and sounds continues.

Chosen Solution Hello everyone Today I spelled a splash of water on my keyboard. It immediately shut down on its’ own, then I preceded with drying it up with towel paper and a cooling Fan upside down. A few minutes later it was back to normal, fully functional when I turned it back on. Now, after a while the battery ran out and to my surprise when I plugged in the charger it made weird sounds from the keyboard....

Chosen Solution Purchased used, it has always dinged when I turn the wheel counter-clockwise, sometimes I can drive for LONG drives w/o hearing it, but around town it is dinging constantly as I turn corners Replace the clockspring in the steering column ASAP. Messing around with an airbag means there is a finite, but small, chance that it blows up in your face. You could…. just saying. Move the steering wheel to where the light just turns on....

Chosen Solution I think I got them to update when I purchased them, but that was about 2 years ago. Don’t remember if I ran into any issues. But now, the updater won’t recognize them - beats studio wireless titanium. Tried a pair of powerbeats 2 and they wer recognised just fine, using the same cable. Mac osx, tried safari and chrome. Also tried a windows 10 machine but no luck....

Chosen Solution I don’t have the money to buy a new one at the moment and I’ve had mine for almost 8 years now. I just want to know if anyone has successfully removed and replaced it and the ipod still works. I’m a bit addicted to music so if I repair it and break it I don’t think I’ll be able to handle it. I have an previous gen that I stopped using due to the battery dying fast and low storage so I’m willing to test repair that one....

Chosen Solution Hello all, I have a situation I haven’t seen before. A customer brought me an iPhone SE with a cracked screen. I put a replacement screen from iFixit on and when I turn it on, the Apple logo jumps up and down on the screen, the screen dims, gets statically, and just acts funky. I haven’t waited for it to boot all the way. When I put the same (new) screen on a different iPhone SE, it works fine....

Chosen Solution The drive belt for the printer head carriage broke so the printer can no longer move the printer head carriage (the part that holds the 4 printer cartridges). Can the belt be repaired or replaced? If it can be repaired, what are the materials and directions. If it can be replaced, where do I get the part and the replacement instructions? I would check Ebay for the belt. As for the instructions, I would first recommend trying to find a repair manual, seeing as how information on self servicing seems to be limited....
