Chosen Solution Hello, I have a Nokia Lumia 1020 here but I broke the power/volume key FPC Connector on the logic board. I can see a gold piece missing and now the device power button doesn’t work. I was wondering if anywhere in CANADA would fix these type of connectors ?? Please let me know. Chosen Solution My ASUS TUF FX505DT back panel is not coming off…i did unscrewed all the screws, but the back side(near the radiator) is seems to be stuck..i tried every ways…pls help…i just want to clear my laptop. Hey Sleepy, Do you have a spudger or old creditcard/giftcard? You can use those to wedge between the plastic. Just make sure not to use anything metal, like a screwdriver, because that will jack up the plastic....

Chosen Solution I bought a new battery from ifixit , replace it everything work. I follow the recommendation that drains the battery to 10% then charge it up. The problem is it not charging up. I can see the icon of the battery with the lightning which indicates that there is power go in but leave there for the whole night and it still 5% then the battery completely drained. Moreover, if I keep connecting to the charger it can run but it won’t charge....

Chosen Solution Put a screwdriver through my phone and it started hissing sparks quickly followed by going up in flames. I threw it on the floor then stamped it out with cardboard followed by wet blanket. I’m sure I must have inhaled some of the smoke (it still really smells) and I’m freaking out about long term damage after consulting Dr Reddit. How much of an issue is this or am I safe?...

Chosen Solution Can I replace the screw hole bracket at the bottom. Phone won’t flush. The screw hole brackets are fastened to the screen not the housing. They are not replaceable. You could try bending them a little and check there is nothing stopping the screen sitting flush.

Not sure if I have spilt something on my MacBook Pro, but a few days ago it turned off with a small puff of smoke, and the motherboard has some damage, pictured, is this repairable does anyone think? Chosen Solution I accidentally broke a few of the clips on the bottom panel of the Apple TV. Is there a way to replace it? It attached just fine after but I don’t want to risk the panel falling off eventually. I Bought a while back a brydge keyboard for my wife’s surface pro The keyboard works almost perfect 90% of the time but every once in a while something gets stocked on the keyboard internal software/hardware and the mouse quits working (this goes beyond the fn + alt key) To fix it we need to wait until the battery runs out of the keyboard and then everything comes back up to working state I’ve tried googling about this issue online, contacted brydge - which is when we learned to let the battery just run out - however this process can take a really long time....

Now it’s been more than a decade, and I’d like to try my hand at fixing my laptop. 3 of the USB ports have the little plastic support absent. I’d like to repair each of them. I’m doing some other general sprucing while I’m in here, like dust removal, replace batteries, etc. Maybe if suggestions about best maintenance practices, or maybe even upgrades would be most welcome....

Chosen Solution Hi, I have a non working power mac G5 and i would like to know if it is possible to swap the motherboard from a 2006 to 2012 mac pro into the G5 chassis. I’m not sure its worth the effort… There are enough structural differences in the case and the power supply and many of the other sundry parts are also different. In the end if you have a working logic board then picking up the proper case would just be easier Mac Pro Enclosure without Power Supply (09-12) and Mac Pro Power Supply, 980W (09-12) for starters....

How can I find out which key specs are relevant for compatibility? Obviously the size would be 15.4", but how about LED vs CCFL? or connectors? plastic frame? etc…? I have done it. Work in progress pictures of the MOD I took an WUXGA panel from an IBM T61p computer, modified the EDID EPROM on it a bit, and the computer would talk to it....

Chosen Solution i can’t slide to unlock my iphone 3G i have tried the home button and the switch off button but nothing happens. hold down the power button and the home button at the same time and this will cause the screen to flash & afterward you want to hold down the power button & hopefully it’ll turn back on. c: hope this helps! Chosen Solution ok, so i replaced the screen following this iFixit guide (great guide BTW), powered on, but all i get is a bad day at the black watch. nothing but snow. any ideas, do i need a remote to change the input to hdmi, as i bought it with the cracked screen sans accessories. or could there be a problem with the control board, all the buttons work, sound from speakers briefly until the mute kicks in....
