Chosen Solution I have a 5.25 inch floppy disk, is this compatible with the Commodore 64? The Commodore 64’s floppy drive is actually more complex than other PC drives, so other disks are NOT compatible. You’ll have to get disks that are specific to the C64. This a rather interesting drive designed specifically for the commodore 64: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commodore_… you’ll need a Commodore 1541 disk drive and it works with any blank or c64 game 5¼" disks...

Chosen Solution My Braun coffeemaker (I don’t have the model # or name) failed this morning. Water doesn’t seem to be heating so the heating element or system is suspect. but I cannot see how to remove the black plastic bottom plate. I used my tamper proof screwdriver head kit to remove the one obvious screw from the bottom. but, removing the top water tank assembly I can see the black plastic area, but cannot get it out....

Chosen Solution I followed the instructions in the ifixit but when it came to removing the sticky strips, they both tore (quite easily). I can’t budge the battery, so this looks like I’ve wasted my money on a repair kit. Any advice would be appreciated. Insert a credit card from the LOWER LEFT side of the battery and try to shovel it up, just as much as you can access the broken stud of the adhesive tab and continue to pull....

Chosen Solution Hello my dear iFixit friends. I got a 3DS XL that when opened all the way turns off. I Tried to secure the top screen with electric tape to that the ribbon won’t wiggle but it didn’t Work. I would order a replacement top screen but I am afraid it maybe the connector is what’s faulty. So If I put that rubber ring there It works fine. No reason still I will continue to investigate....

Chosen Solution Hello there fellow tinkers, here is my problem: TimeCapsule A1254 500GB (Original) Upgrading to 3TB HDD. Facts: Works perfectly Well with the original 500GB Seagate ST3500xxxx. Tested with 3TB Seagate and 1TB Seagate HDDs. TC will power for exactly 20 or so seconds, and will shut itself down. If old Seagate HDD comes back in, works just fine/detectable by airport utility, etc. I have done 3 of those upgrades thus far, never have had an issue, only thing I can’t remember is that I think I was using WD HDDs vs Seagate....

Chosen Solution I bought a late iMac with a faulty drive and replaced the cpu, hard drive and ram on it. When I first started it up before opening it I got a gray screen with the question mark box blinking, I wasn’t worried because it was a basic 1TB drive I was replacing anyway. After all the upgrades I got a loud fan noise and a black screen but I have no problem hooking it up to an external monitor where I was able to use the system but the fan was still running full speed....

Chosen Solution Hi all. I have a Mid 2014 15 inch Macbook Pro. Today I left for while with the computer plugged in and the lid open. When I got back home and tried to log back in I noticed it took some time for the computer to display the login screen. Actually I had to press a few buttons and the trackpad quite a few times to get there. Once I was able to see the login screen I noticed that the battery indicator displayed only 1% of battery although the computer was plugged in for a while....

Chosen Solution I have a nexus 5. After an update,stays only in bootloop and i can’t acces bootloader or recovery mode. When i press the combination of the keys,it’s only restarting at google logo,so i can’t flash another image. What can i do? If you can’t access bootloader by holding VOL UP and VOL DOWN and POWER, you may have a broken button. If you’re still dealing with this, you might consider following the teardown guide and see if a button is stuck or blocked by some dirt....

Chosen Solution my I phone 4s mobile bottom row why not working?? It’s usually either a bad screen, damage on the screen connector on the board or a board-level issue (worst case, not worth fixing). Wife tried to update her mid 2009 MacBook Pro running El Capitan to high Sierra following a YouTube video and somehow messed up something. On start up I get the slash and circle icon tried everything. Anyway I can fix this? Computer is in awesome shape and really don’t want to just throw it away. I ended up replacing the connector. If you snip off the connector and solder a new one on that should solve the issue. Just make sure you solder the wires to the same spot they were before....
